Occupational Therapy Assessment and Consultancy Service

What is Occupational Therapy?

According the the World Federation of OT (2012), “Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.

Absolute Health Service (AHS) uses the Person-Environment-Occupation-Performance (PEOP) Model as a foundation for service delivery.   It is through this holistic approach that we believe the best outcomes are achieved.  To achieve optimum occupational performance, we consider the interactions between the person, their environment, and the occupations they are performing.  This systems approach is used by AHS in every setting so to enable optimal outcomes.

The goals of AHS are to:

  • Deliver quality, evidence-based, and timely services
  • Tailor services to meet the customer’s needs
  • Reduce the human and financial costs associated with injury, illness and disability
  • Achieve sustainable outcomes for all parties
